The Twelve Brews Of Christmas: Day Five

Left Hand Brewing Company's Black Jack Porter (it's pdf)

Black Jack's initial slight sweetness is followed by roasted malt flavors. A blend of dark chocolate and espresso fills the palate and then yields to an incredibly smooth, surprisingly clean finish. Pairs with beef or buffalo.

mmmm... buffalo.

what's with all the beers here tasting like chocolate and/or coffee? that's not a real man's beer (from my recollection of when i was twelve and practically forced to drink Old Style).

What I got him was a collection of Winter Brews. I guess we all want to taste chocolate and coffee in the winter..or something like that. I am not a dark ale fan myself, so I think they're all kinda gross.

Give me some pale ale, lighter beers, or best case...Radler. Yummy!

so, basically it's the opposite of bailey's cream in coffee?

'you put coffee in my beer!'

'you put beer in my coffee!'

*bloody fistfight ensues, leaving them both near-death*
